Commerce Moves to the Curb: 13 Vehicles We’re Excited to See at Curbivore

Now more than ever, cities, businesses and people depend on the curb. Over the last few years, there has been an unprecedented shift in how people and businesses view and use their cities. Commerce has moved to the curb, and our new normal relies on delivery and pick up. What does this mean for the future? It’s imperative that cities retrofit curbs, sidewalks, and unused real estate into spaces that serve everyone, and that businesses and workers have the right tools to accommodate this change

13 Vehicles We’re Excited to See at Curbivore

Pico Delivers

Pico Delivers offers stylish mopeds as weekly rentals to gig economy drivers.  Pico delivery drivers can rent a variety of e-mopeds for as low as $25 per week, and the vehicle’s compact stature makes it the perfect delivery vehicle for the curb.

We’re excited to see Pico Delivers at Curbivore because this moped is eco-friendly (chargeable batteries at standard wall outlets!) and offers drivers an all-inclusive plan that includes unlimited mileage and maintenance. For delivery drivers, it’s much cheaper than a car, easier to park, get in/out of traffic and fun to drive. In addition to their moped, Pico Delivers will also showcase their two-wheeled Dazz vehicle. 

Also, don’t miss out on on hearing from Pico's co-founder and CEO, Emre Ucer. Ucer will speak during the Curbivore panel titled “Going the Extra Mile - Building a World Designed for Delivery.”

Waev - GEM

Waev Inc. is an electric vehicle pioneer founded in 2021 to manufacture, distribute, market, and support the GEM, Taylor-Dunn, and Tiger brands. At Curbivore, we can expect to see two vehicles, the e2 and e4. The e2 version seats two people, whereas the e4 can comfortably accommodate four and up. 

We’re excited to see this next phase of mobility not only because the GEM is so compact, but also because of all its uses. Companies and governments can use these vehicles on campuses, around an urban community, and people can use them to get around their neighborhoods quickly, go to the grocery store, and more. Why take your gas-powered, full size vehicle out when most people can do 90% of their trips in something like the GEM?

As Paul Vitrano, Senior Vice President and Chief Legal and Policy Officer at Waev points out, “Urban environments face interesting challenges when it comes to mobility. Current public transit options can be inconvenient with long routes that rarely take you directly to your destination. Micromobility alternatives like electric scooters can be fun and convenient but lack range and cargo options. When a full-size vehicle is too much and micromobilty isn’t enough, GEM is the perfect fit for urban environments with its size, speed, features and range.”

Stellar Pizza

Stellar Pizza states their mission is to “spread joy in the world, one pizza at a time, with robots” but that’s not the only thing we’re looking forward to seeing with Stellar Pizza. In addition to getting massive investment from rapper, billionaire, and icon Jay-Z, Stellar Pizza is also known for using robots to churn out 50+ pizzas an hour and cooking a single pie in less than five minutes.

As if that’s not exciting enough, you can also hear from the CEO and co-founder of Stellar Pizza, Benson Tsai, as Tsai will be speaking at the Curbivore panel titled “Cooking Up Something New: New Tools, New Menus, New Spaces.” 

Roll To

Roll To is an online marketplace for event organizers to find, contact and book mobile bars for their next celebration. From vintage vehicles and retro trailers, to tap trucks and pedal-powered coffee carts, RollTo will help elevate catering service at your wedding, birthday or corporate event with a beautiful bar on wheels. 

We’re looking forward to seeing Roll To at Curbivore to discuss how they’re changing the way parties and other events are catered, acknowledging how space has become limited and compact is the way to go. Also, make sure to stop by for coffee in the morning and wine in the afternoon!

And as a special bonus, Everything Marketplaces will host a meet-up for marketplace founders from 4:30-5:30 pm in front of the Roll To mobile wine bar.

Motional

Motional is an autonomous driving joint venture formed in 2020 between Hyundai Motor Group and Aptiv. Motional is developing Level 4 robotaxis for ride-hail and delivery applications. Motional conducts autonomous deliveries in partnership with Uber Eats in Santa Monica and autonomous rides in Las Vegas through the Lyft and Uber apps.
