Also, Pivot bikes rolled out a new Shuttle AM Electric Mountain Bike, people in Taiwan are now asked to recycle their plastic waste at Gogoro and MUJI stores, and Uber’s shares fell by 6%.
Great to come across your newsletter, Movements! - and I am psyched to hear about the #citiesFirst podcast, and look forward to listening. Two things your readers may be interested in that add to the enthusiasm/hope: I interview some incredible local city leaders (mayors and city council/general assembly members from cities across the U.S.) for Season 1 my Living Change: A Quest for Climate Leadership podcast (livingchangepodcast.com) who - because they themselves ride a bike or take transit for transportation in their cities are EXTRA bold in forwarding change. The two CA leaders I spoke with were Alex Fisch of Culver City and John Bauters of Emeryville. As we celebrate policy shifts, we should also be personalizing it and hugely thanking/amplifying the leaders who are getting that job done (or even just getting it *started*). And - to the point about livable communities and LA commuting etc, there's a fantastic initiative in LA called Livable Communities Initiative (nonprofit, advocacy org) - an org I have loved advising a bit. Check them out/they have white papers and templates for how to move policy shifts towards affordable housing and truly livable blocks/communities: https://www.livablecommunitiesinitiative.com/
