Interesting to see cities experimenting with UBM. Out of curiosity, do you have a stance on the "free transit" vs. "improved quality" debate RE: which should we focus on more in terms of helping low-income riders?

Good q. Not an expert on this topic yet but learning.. would be great if we did both. Clearly, transit has some easy wins that can be implemented (for ex. in LA, timing the expo line to get all green lights so it doesn't have to wait at stoplights and take longer than an Uber ride lol). And also feel strongly that micromobility is a great first/last mile solution for transit. Shared and personal escooters are great connector and e-bikes may allow customers with a car to ditch the car (or drive a lot less) + ride transit way more. I think the key though is that transit alone is not enough - need improvements and better alternatives. Strike while the ebike craze is hot!

Agree that both would be best, personally think a bus that comes every 10 minutes that's $2 is better than a bus that's free but only comes every 60 minutes, but it's not my area of expertise. Totally agree though the future of urban mobility isn't one mode or another, it's the integration of transit and last mile solutions, esp. micromobility. Really cool to see projects like Brightline in Miami adding bike storage to their stations or Pittsburgh building "mobility hubs" w/ mopeds/scooters by existing train/bus stations.
