LA has suspended Uber’s JUMP operations over their refusal to share data by integrating with the MDS Agency API. This would have required Uber to share vehicle telemetry data every 5 seconds on a trip, which raises a number privacy concerns and technical challenges. | LA Times

NYC passes an ambitious Streets Master Plan, requiring NYCDOT to build out 50 miles of protected bike lanes per year, 30 miles of bus lanes per year, and a million square feet of pedestrian space in NYC. Additionally, there are plans for upgrading thousands of intersections with the latest designs that optimize for pedestrian safety as well as transit signal priority. Between this effort, the massive expansion of Citi Bike, and implementation of congestion pricing, mobility in NYC is going to look very different in a few years’ time. | Curbed
