Moovit integrates Waze Carpool as a travel option in its trip planning experience: “The idea is that the user will search for their destination through Moovit — as usual — and where public transport does not adequately cover the journey from A to B, Waze Carpool will show up as one of the suggested routes.” | VentureBeat

Cities & Policy

LA has suspended Uber’s JUMP operations over their refusal to share data by integrating with the MDS Agency API. This would have required Uber to share vehicle telemetry data every 5 seconds on a trip, which raises a number privacy concerns and technical challenges.  | LA Times

Seattle has seen a significant drop in car ownership following significant investments in mass transit over the past decade. | Seattle Times

The new ULEZ charges in London has helped to shift riders back on to public transport and reduce air pollution in the congestion charging zone. | The Developer

NYC passes an ambitious Streets Master Plan, requiring NYCDOT to build out 50 miles of protected bike lanes per year, 30 miles of bus lanes per year, and a million square feet of pedestrian space in NYC. Additionally, there are plans for upgrading thousands of intersections with the latest designs that optimize for pedestrian safety as well as transit signal priority. Between this effort, the massive expansion of Citi Bike, and implementation of congestion pricing, mobility in NYC is going to look very different in a few years’ time. | Curbed
